Majvik's soil grows a good selection of vegetables and grains. Potatoes, carrots, onions, parsnips, beetroots, swedes, turnipses and gabbages are the main crops alongside with beans, rye, wheat, oat and spelt. A good load of tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, garlic, peas, apples, black- and redcurrants grow every year too. The fields are fertilised by growing beans and other nitrogen capturing plants and by spreading compost to the fields. Biodynamic preparations are also made and used in Majvik.
All the animals on the farm are very important and so a part of the family. The cows hang out on the pastures, eat hay and Mooo! for carrot tops. When it gets colder they warm up in their family sized barn with the chickens. Cow manure is composted and so it crows more of those tops for them to eat. Chickens dig around in the yard and lay eggs in their own secret places. Often they are found and the eggs are used in the kitchen or sometimes sold in the shop.
Everything in Majvik is produced biodynamically, which means organic farming with close attention paid to the cycles of the surrounding nature
